Woodridge exterior
Striking roof lines and picturesque architectural flourishes distinguish this old world style home. Arch-topped dormer windows and bronze, six-inch gutters
with collection boxes frame the handsome black walnut shingles that grace the roof. An eye-catching Porte Cochere sits at a 45 degree angle to the front entry and features an arched pull-through drive and a one-car garage with access to a second-level “Man Cave.” Oil-rubbed lanterns adorn the two wing walls that extend from each side of the facade and the front porch. Rich mahogany doors open into the foyer where the cove trey ceiling features a brilliant faux-paint technique with metallic copper accents. Five-inch quarter-sawn white oak flooring extends through a welcoming vestibule and into the spacious Great Room. Great Room features a deep vaulted ceiling with four sections of custom finished cedar beams whose dark rustic tones and barnwood hues create a sense of distinction and timelessness to the rooms considerable charms. Majestic fireplace features brick reclaimed from the original Kings’ Chapel and a custom wood mantle. Dramatic built-in hood provides a natural canopy that disappears into the wall as it ascends toward the ceiling. Three sets of French doors, each with dormers, provide a wealth of natural light and open to the Outdoor Living Area features both a covered and uncovered patio. Covered patio features a linear gas fireplace with television, ceiling fan and porch swing. Uncovered patio includes outdoor kitchen refrigerator, gas grill and fire pit. Kitchen features custom cabinetry and poured concrete countertops. The oversized island is constructed of stained, knotty alder wood. Stained-glass backsplash extends behind the range to the ceiling, perfectly complemented by the concrete hood overhead. The coffered ceiling beautifully complements a built-in banquette, each featuring a white wash finish and “pecky cypress wood.” Laundry Room and Mud Room feature brick pavers reclaimed from Kings’ Chapel and custom cabinetry in an antique-finished turqouise.
